REFLECTION
Our last two TOk classes were very interesting with different groups giving presentations on the different ways of knowing like perception, emotion and reason. The first group gave their presentation on perception. We had a special guest with us for this TOK class who viewed the presentations and questioned the students. This added a new twist to our TOK class making it all the more interesting. The group after showing us their presentation and presenting us with their views, showed us a short video on perception. The video was definitely related to perception but involved a controversial statement that was infact stereotypical in nature. Our guest teacher then questioned he group on their presentation which led to a heated discussion and debate. I learned from this class to make sure that whatever I put in my presentation isn’t controversial and makes sense. Our next TOK class was also entertaining with our guest present once again. This group gave its presentation on emotion and though their presentation was interesting, they weren’t clear about some of their content. This gave our guest a chance to question the group and the question answer session that followed was very interesting. I also learnt from this presentation to not put things in our presentation that we ourselves aren’t aware about or clear with. We should understand and know the contents of our presentation. The third group gave their presentation on reason. Their presentation was pretty impressive and they managed to impress the teachers as well. I learnt a lot from these presentations about the different ways of knowing. It helped me to understand the subject better. The discussions we have in our TOK class help in enhancing my interest in the subject. Question- answer sessions not only make the class more interesting and fun but also help us to learn better.
